Soroptimist International is a worldwide organisation with a local group held in St Austell.

St Austell Soroptimists hold an annual award ceremony to applaud the work and services of individual volunteers who have never received proper public recognition.  They call them “Unsung Heroines”.  This year, they have asked Cornwall VSF to support by inviting you to nominate one of your deserving volunteers.

You can download the form here to nominate women from your organisation, which will secure your place at the annual award ceremony.

This event is to showcase women who have made a significant difference in the life of individuals and communities without looking for recognition or reward.  Individuals and charities are invited to nominate a candidate.  A panel of judges will select one main winner and one highly commended winner.

If you know any volunteer within your own charity or elsewhere who truly deserves to be recognised as an “unsung heroine”, please complete the Nomination Form and send it back as soon as possible (See details below). It is important to ask the permission of the person you have in mind before nominating them. Nominators, nominees and their guests will be invited to attend the award ceremony. It is a most enjoyable evening with food, drinks and entertainment. There will also be speeches from specially invited guests.

The group look forward to hearing from you.
