Heart Research UK

A limited number of grants of £15,000 are available for new and innovative projects across the UK to promote heart health and to prevent or reduce the risks of heart disease in specific groups or communities.

SOUTH of ENGLAND: opens on Wednesday 12th June with an application deadline of WEDNESDAY 10th JULY 2024;

Who can apply: not-for-profit organisations across the UK, including registered charities, community groups, voluntary organisations and sports groups with an annual turnover of under £1 million.

Heart Research UK is offering a limited number of grants across the UK during 2024 for projects that support new, original and innovative work that actively promotes a healthy heart and helps prevent or reduce the risk of heart disease in local communities. Projects should run for between 3 and 12 months.
5 grants of £15,000 are available to charitable organisations with an annual turnover of less than £1 million across the UK during 2024, as follows:

  • WALES: 1 grant for a project in Wales.
  • ENGLAND (2 grants): 1 grant for a project in the North of England and 1 grant for a project in the South of England.
  • SCOTLAND: 1 grant for a project in Scotland, and
  • NORTHERN IRELAND: 1 grant for a project in Northern Ireland.

Project proposals, which can come from UK not-for-profit organisations, including registered charities, community groups, voluntary organisations, sports and physical activity clubs, should focus one or more of the following risk factors of heart disease:

  • Alcohol.
  • Nutrition and Healthy Eating.
  • Physical Activity, and/or
  • Smoking.
