The Great Western Railway Customer and Community Fund
Grants of up to £50,000 are nominally available (most grant awards are likely to be for £1,000 or less) to not-for-profit organisations providing services and facilities in the area served by the Great Western Railway area network (see map below). Projects with a railway link are especially welcomed.
Who can apply: Small-medium registered charities, community and voluntary groups, other forms of not-for-profit organisation, educational institutions and local authorities operating in the area served by the Great Western Railway network.

The Great Western Railway Customer and Community Fund is an annual grant programme. While a diverse range of small-medium sized community projects can be supported, the Customer and Community Fund for 2024/25 places a particular emphasis on projects that address one or more of the following:
- Projects that benefit customers.
- Projects that increase rail travel.
- Projects that encourage carbon reduction.
- Projects that connect communities, people and places.
- Projects that support economic growth.
- Projects that promote inclusion and diversity.
- Educational programmes that support careers in rail, and
- Projects that increase awareness and experience of public transport and rail safety.
