West Cornwall Women’s Aid is run by women, for women and exists to bring an end to the harm done through domestic abuse and sexual violence. WCWA’s work is holistic and empowering: working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives free from abuse.

The Women’s Advice and Support Worker will work with women who have experienced domestic abuse and/or sexual violence (DASV). The aim of the role is to prioritise women’s safety, and provide financial and other DASV support. Through holistic practice, practical support and education, the worker will aim to address the impact of abuse, including finance and debt issues, by;
- empowering women to manage their money and finances effectively
- helping women develop the skills to reduce and/or avoid any financial and money management difficulties and problems
- increase their knowledge, awareness and understanding of money, financial literacy and wider money issues
- develop the emotional skills and resilience needed to manage money effectively
The Women’s Advice and Support Worker will be based at WCWAid’s community building and will be part of the Community Services team. However, at least once a week, they will hold a clinic at our refuge.
