Become A Trustee

We are looking for new Trustees to join our Board. Your contributions will be greatly valued and make a significant difference to all of those who need our support especially if you can share experiences and expertise in fundraising, strategy, legal, marketing including PR and social media. Most of all we are hoping you will have a passion for the Charity and those people who need our support.

Merlin Neuro Therapy Centre is a £700,000 pa charity based at Hewas Water near St Austell providing a range of specialised therapies to a community of people, of all ages, who have a wide range of neuro-diverse conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Acquired Brain Injury and sensory integration challenges to name a few.

Begun in 2009 the charity, unique in Cornwall, operates from its own premises situated alongside its new sensory garden offering oxygen therapy, a range of physio therapies including hydrotherapy together with a café and group activities. Last year the charity delivered over 7,000 client activities representing a 47% increase on the previous year.

The charity, led by a group of 5 trustees and having 16 members of staff ably supported by over 50 volunteers, is embarking on a new 3 year growth strategy that will see both an expansion in the range of services provided as well as securing the long term sustainability of the charity.

While being deeply engaged in supporting peoples’ health and wellbeing Merlin enjoys great support from a number of local businesses and organisations. However, with no direct support from the NHS, or other public bodies, Merlin has traditionally had to find monies to fund an operating deficit itself largely driven by the provision of these specialist services at significant discounts to those in need.
