Drop-in meeting to address the issue of minimum wage pay or insecure hours in Cornwall – Truro
Cornwall has traditionally been an area where the lowest pay and insecure hours has been the way things are done. Do you think it is time to change that?
If so come and have a chat with some like minded people. There is free parking at both venues and refreshments will be available.
Aim of these drop in meetings:
- To hear views from working people affected by minimum wage income and/or
- insecure working hours.
• To start to think about how we can create change together
People who should attend:
As an employee:
- Are you paid less than £12 per hour and think you should be paid more?
- Have you had shifts cancelled at short notice and therefore lost income?
- Are you on an IMPOSED zero, or very low, hours contract and struggling with
insecure pay? (ie you have not chosen to be on a zero hours contract|) - Do you think your employer could do more to pay fairly?
- If yes then please come to either of these sessions to talk with us
anonymously.
As an employer:
- Do you want to commit to paying the real living wage and guarantee living hours as recommended by the Living Wage Foundation?
- If yes then we can provide information about this.
These events are being organised by Truro Foodbank as part of a team that is looking at the impacts of low pay and insecure hours in Cornwall.
