Community Hub Network

Community hubs are central points that provide support and contact for their communities. They are places where people can come together.

Community hubs have been operating throughout Cornwall for some time. We have been collaborating with NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly and VCSE partners to assist communities during the cost of living crisis.

The hub network offers safe and warm places for people to socialise and take part in activities.

We are working on a long-term plan to provide care and support through the community hub network.

  • What are community hubs?

    Community hubs are places that provide support and resources for their communities.

    Hubs rely on organisations working together to identify the best support available for people at a local level.

    A community hub can be a building or space, or a network of people who offer safe places for community members. Here, they can find help, advice, support, and join in activities.

    In towns and villages, there are various types of hubs that each play a unique and vital role in their community.

  • How much will it cost to attend a community hub?

    Nothing. Community hubs are places anyone can visit for free and you can stay as long as you need to. Some hubs may make a small charge for refreshments, if people are able to contribute.

  • Who are community hubs for?

    Community hubs are for everyone. Whether you are looking for a safe space to keep warm, access to food and beverages, advice or support – pop along to a hub for some friendly company as the winter months draw closer.

  • How do I find out where the community hubs are and what times they are open?

    The map above details your nearest community hub, opening times and contact details.

  • What if people can’t use public transport and don’t have a vehicle to get to a hub?

    Age UK has electric vehicles based in Penzance, Camborne, Falmouth, Truro, Newquay and St Austell.

    Please contact your nearest hub via the contact details provided on the map above if you need help accessing a hub.

  • I’m too busy to get to a hub. Are there other ways to access the support I need?

    Of course. Your Community Gateway is open 8am to 8pm, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

  • Who is in charge of the community hub network?

    Volunteer Cornwall organises the community hub network. It includes many charities and organisations, supported by NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly and Cornwall VSF.
