Opportunities: Older people

The Albert Van Den Bergh Charitable Trust has a particular interest in supporting charities which assist health research and care for the elderly and children in Cornwall

Grants available to UK registered charities working in the UK in the areas of Social and Criminal Justice. Grants are also available for overseas projects.

Grants available to smaller charities operating at a grassroots community level with an annual income of under £150,000 for activities and projects that will have a significant and beneficial impact on local communities.

Capital grants for organisations providing care and services for older people, particularly if they have a neurodegenerative condition or are socially isolated. Grants are awarded for new buildings, refurbishment work and equipment.

Grants for charities working with the elderly, people with a mental or physical disability, those who are terminally ill, young people and social welfare projects, including those that benefit carers, the homeless and ex-offenders.

Grants of between £15,000 and £150,000 are available to UK performing arts organisations for new build projects, refurbishment and major and specialist equipment to improve performance and training facilities.

Capital grants, generally for between £2,500 and £15,000, are available to UK registered charities working in the equine sector or charities/hospices supporting older people.

Small Grants of up to £250 are available for small charitable organisations in England and Wales for activities that provide musical entertainment for elderly people in need.

The Charity will purchase goods and services on behalf of a Vegetarian and Vegan aged 60 and over. Organisations may apply on behalf of an older person in financial hardship.

One-off grants of up to £5,000 (but averaging £2,500) are available to smaller UK registered charities working with the elderly, people with a mental or physical disability, those who are terminally ill, young people and social welfare projects, including those that benefit carers, the homeless and ex-offenders.

Small grants are available for community groups and grants of up to £1,500 are available for registered charities working at a grassroots level in the UK for wellbeing activities and projects that benefit people aged 55 and over, helping reduce social isolation and loneliness.

Grants for projects that engage the public with the topic of dementia and the life-changing research going on into the condition.
