The Tweed Family Charitable Foundation

The Tweed Family Charitable Foundation, based in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, offers a limited number of grants to charities and not-for-profit organisations in England and Wales that meet its objectives of:

  • Promoting life enhancing opportunities to socially disadvantaged young people under the age of 25. Such opportunities may be educational (in its broadest sense), or vocational, and should provide resources that would otherwise be inaccessible to the young people concerned without the Trust’s financial support.
  • Inspiring young people to live full and valuable lives and break the cycle of chaos that many experience, and
  • Supporting initiatives with smaller groups that have a lasting impact over the longer-term (programmes that seek to support large numbers through one-off presentations or experiences are unlikely to be supported).

Grants are typically up to £10,000 per annum for up to 3 years. The Foundation is seeking to make 3 grant awards during 2025 to organisations with an annual turnover of less than £1 million. In practice the Foundation expects the organisations it supports to have an annual income of less than £500,000.

Details of charities and not-for-profit organisations previously and currently funded can be found on the Foundation’s website.

To apply, eligible organisations should:

  1. Complete the short form at the foot on the Foundation’s website by Friday 14th February 2025. The short form is only visible when the fund is open to new applications.
  2. If the Foundation decides to consider a request further, it will ask the applicant to complete a detailed application form.

The Foundation will try to acknowledge all applications.and keep applicants informed as to the status of their application.
