The Tabhair Charitable Trust
The Edinburgh based Tabhair Charitable Trust seeks to change communities through providing opportunities for education, training and personal advancement by supporting individuals and organisations that take action in improving individuals’ welfare. The Trust makes grants to charitable organisations and primarily supports projects undertaken in the UK and Ireland.
Tabhair is an Irish word, whose English translation is ‘to give’.The charity makes grants, donations or gifts to other charitable or voluntary organisations whose aims encompass the following:
- The prevention or relief of poverty, the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage.
- The advancement of education, religion, health, the saving of lives, citizenship or community development, the arts, heritage, culture and science and the advancement of animal welfare.
- The advancement of public participation in sport, the provision of recreational facilities or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended.
- The advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation.
- The promotion of religious or racial harmony, equality and diversity, and
- The advancement of environmental protection or improvement.

All applications must be submitted online. We do not accept applications by post. The Tabhair Trust welcomes funding applications that fall within the funding remit of the Trust. Please read the Trust Guidelines before applying. As a small trust please note that we do not have the resources to comment on individual applications.
