Neat Street Grant
The Neat Street Grant scheme has 5 grants to give out over the next 12 months, and aims to allocate 1 – 2 grants of £10,000 every 3 months to allow applicants time to prepare their bid. The first deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 20th September 2024.
To overarching aim of the Fund is to help support local authorities tackle litter and recycling by providing grant to replicate a Hubbub campaign in local communities in order to encourage litter reduction and boost recycling.
The campaign should be one of those featured in the free resources section:
o Tidy Roadsides – targeted at drivers and roadside litter.
o [Name of city]’s Binning (e.g. Bristol’s Binning) – targeted towards young adults and aimed at urban environments.
o Love Your Forest – targeted towards visitors to forests and other areas of natural beauty.
o Neat Streets – targeted at tourists to the beach.
o In The Loop – targeted to tackling recycling on-the-go in towns and cities.
In addition to a grant of £10,000, recipients will also receive support from Hubbub in the form of project management and design time.
To maximise the campaign scale and impact, Hubbub is asking for applicants to co-invest £5,000 into a campaign, to create a project budget of £15,000.
Grants can be used to support the purchase of new bins and signage, events and the development of a campaign. Approximately 70% of the funding must be spent on purchasing or upgrading infrastructure with the rest going towards communication materials, event budgets and litter picking equipment, as well as overheads.
Projects are expected to be ready to launch within three months of receiving the grant.
