Resettlement Worker (Part-time)

West Cornwall Women’s Aid

Hours: 12 hours per week, days of work to be discussed
Salary: £7,831 - £8,699 per annum (FTE £24,272 - £27,184 per annum)
Location: Penzance

This is an opportunity to join West Cornwall Women’s Aid (WCWAid) as a Resettlement Worker, providing personal welfare support to women leaving our Refuge service, having experienced domestic abuse and/or sexual violence, in a trauma-informed environment in accordance with WCWAid’s philosophical principles.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver groupwork to women engaging with our Refuge and Resettlement services, including Peer Support and Wellness groups
  • Provide high quality support and safety planning to women in crisis, including use of DASH risk assessment
  • Deliver support through a trauma-informed, person-centred lens
  • Champion co-production, by ensuring that the views and experiences of women and are sought actively, recorded carefully, and inform the development of the service
  • Work in collaboration with our Children & Young People’s Workers to provide a whole family response
  • Work in collaboration with external agencies to cofacilitate workshops and programmes
  • Work with other services within WCWAid to deliver holistic support to women
  • Promote and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of self and others in line with our Safeguarding Adult and Children Policies, Health & Safety Policy, together with any other requirements aimed at keeping people safe from harm in their interaction with WCWAid
  • Ensure that the confidentiality and security of information is maintained in accordance with our Confidentiality, Data Protection and IT policies
  • Keep up to date with relevant legislation, information and resources, including undertaking relevant training
  • Demonstrating an understanding of and commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role
  • Attendance at organisational meetings and supervision as appropriate
  • Adhere to WCWAid policies and procedures at all times
