Mental Health Support Coordinator
St Petrocs
As a Mental Health Support Coordinator, you will find, engage, and build positive relationships with rough sleepers, sofa-surfers, and those at risk of becoming homeless across Cornwall. An increasing number of these people report having problems with their mental health (63% of our clients compared to about 25% of the general population), and you will support them to navigate a complex mental health system, ensuring you have an open-minded, holistic approach to your work.
This is a brand new role to St Petrocs, developed in direct response to the needs of our clients. You’ll be joining a small team providing Outreach services right across the county, and the successful candidate will be based in North Cornwall – from Bodmin all the way up to Launceston and Bude. Given the rural nature of the area and distances covered, access to a vehicle will be essential.
This team also provide cover for weekend drop-in sessions taking place in Truro, and you will join a rota to work 3 hours on a Saturday (approximately 1 in every 3 weeks), with all overtime taken back as TOIL. The exact hours and locations of your work will vary, based on the needs of the individuals you’re working with – which may mean some early morning or evening work where this suits them best. Similarly, you may also need to provide some out-of-hours support to St Petrocs’ emergency “Winter Service” during the colder months.
This is a fixed-term contract for 2 years.
Interviews are expected to take place on Tuesday 16th January.
