Volunteer Co-ordinator

Are you passionate about empowering others and creating meaningful change within your community? Konnect Communities is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our dedicated team and help transform lives.

Contract: Until 31 March 2025, with potential extension
Reports to: Business Operations Manager

About the Role

As a Volunteer Co-ordinator, you will play a pivotal role in developing, training, and supporting a network of volunteers, many with lived experience, helping them gain the skills needed to assist others. You’ll be integral to recruiting volunteers, including individuals with a background in the criminal justice system, and guiding them toward becoming impactful Peer Mentors and Volunteers in their local communities.

Funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, this position is part of our mission to support people across Cornwall. You’ll work closely with the wider Project Team to ensure that volunteers are well-prepared, supported, and valued, making a lasting impact in their communities.

What You’ll Do:

• Recruit volunteers from local communities, with a focus on individuals with lived experience.
• Train and Support volunteers through induction, workshops, and ongoing supervision.
• Collaborate with the delivery team to ensure volunteers are fully integrated and able to make a difference.
• Monitor and Evaluate volunteer progress, ensuring safeguarding processes are upheld.
• Promote Social Justice by supporting individuals with vulnerable backgrounds to thrive as volunteers.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proven ability to develop, motivate, and support volunteers.
• Experience working with vulnerable groups, ensuring their needs shape service delivery.
• Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
• Passionate about social justice and empowering those with lived experience.
• Full driving license with the ability to travel across Cornwall as required.

Desirable:
Experience working in a criminal justice setting.
