Lived Experience Trustee
Cornwall Mind
Join Us as a Lived Experience Trustee at Cornwall Mind
We’re looking for a volunteer Trustee who has lived experience of mental ill-health to join our friendly and passionate Board.
Your insights will help shape our decisions, ensuring we continue to provide the best support for our community.
Our Trustees play a vital role in making sure that Cornwall Mind achieves its core purpose.
- They oversee the overall management and administration of the charity.
- They ensure that the charity has a clear strategy and that our work and goals are in line with our vision.
- Just as importantly, they support the Chief Executive Officer to enable Cornwall Mind to grow and thrive.
What will you do as a Trustee?
- Help guide Cornwall Mind’s purpose and goals, using your personal experience to inform our work.
- Help review and approve plans, budgets, and policies, making sure everything runs smoothly.
- Board members have a collective responsibility. This means that trustees always act as a group and not as individuals.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has lived experience of mental ill-health.
- Brings enthusiasm, commitment, and fresh ideas to the role.
- Cares about fairness, diversity, and inclusion.
- Is willing to learn, contribute, and work as part of a team.
- Cares about Cornwall Mind’s mission and values.
What’s involved?
- Six Board meetings a year (held in person in Bodmin or online via Teams).
- One Annual Strategy Day.
- Occasional working groups.
- This is a voluntary role, but expenses will be reimbursed.
You don’t need previous experience as a Trustee—we’ll provide training and support to help you succeed.
What’s in it for you?
Make a difference in mental health support in Cornwall, gain valuable experience, and help shape the future of our charity.
