Role Purpose
To represent the Cornwall Disability Alliance (CDA), ensuring its strategic vision is realised and key initiatives are delivered. The role includes leading coproduction programmes, responding to issues identified in the Big Disability Survey, and fostering collaboration. The post-holder will act as a spokesperson, manage events, and develop impactful materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent CDA at stakeholder meetings, policy forums, and media engagements.
- Deliver the CDA’s strategy, ensuring alignment with survey findings and member input.
- Maintain and update CDA materials, including position statements, to support strategic objectives.
- Prepare and present materials to showcase CDA’s impact externally, raising its profile and influence.
- Support CDA meetings and Away Days, ensuring inclusive participation.
- Enable collaboration among CDA members by sharing resources and systems.
- Lead CDA programmes, including co-design initiatives.
- Engage with health authorities, councils, and other stakeholders to address disability issues.
- Advocate for policy changes to improve accessibility and inclusion.
- Influence at least two local policies or initiatives annually.
- Manage the Big Disability Survey (Years 1 and 4) and ensure community participation.
- Organise focus groups and consultations to gather insights.
- Oversee activities arising from consultations, managing budgets and impact reporting.
- Plan and execute two public campaigns annually (from Year 2).
- Serve as CDA’s media spokesperson when required.
- Develop and distribute reports and campaign materials.
- Build relationships with key organisations and stakeholders.
- Organise survey evaluation events in Years 1 and 4.
- Represent CDA at key forums, including the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Local Enterprise Partnership.
- Manage budgets and identify funding opportunities.
- Secure at least one new funding stream annually (from Year 2).
- Deliver CDA’s annual objectives and track progress.
- Prepare reports for funders as required on progress, advocacy successes, and collaborations.
