Head of Debt

Hours: 37 Hours per week (Full-time)
Salary: FTE £30,000 – £35,500 (Band E) per annum
Location: Your work base will be at one of our offices with requirements to travel to meetings or other offices/locations. Some of the work can be home based.

We have a vacancy for a Head of Debt

As part of our Management Team, this newly created post will oversee and develop our Debt Advice provision across the organisation. This includes our Money and Pension Service Debt Advice Project (MaPSDAP) and People in Mind (debt and mental health) project as well as our volunteer debt advisers and administrators within our Core Service. The role will be key in coordinating a consistent, high-quality service for our clients, feeding into organisational strategy and development of new debt-related projects/services.

The role includes:

Line Management: Directly managing project employees and volunteers, ensuring each has the appropriate level of pastoral care and performance development support.

Managing Standards: Providing our clients with the highest quality of debt advice by ensuring consistency of service provision and compliance with MaPS Standards and FCA regulation (including the Consumer Duty) across all operations.

Technical Supervision: Providing immediate technical support for advisers across the service on debt-related matters, conducting case-note checking and Independent File Reviews (IFRs) to ensure quality of debt advice and that areas for adviser development are identified and supported.

Project Management: Providing support to ensure that the individual projects are fully resourced and are meeting their key performance indicators as advised by funders, as well as reporting to and meeting with funders/project partners at regular intervals.
Service Development: Working with the Head of Operations to develop organisational capability and capacity through the implementation of new projects and maximising the number of volunteer debt advisers.
