Volunteer Management and Community Upskilling Programme Coordinator

Bugle Library of Things CIC provides support to the community within Bugle and outlying areas through the hosting of community Hubs, community outreach work at various locations and the distribution of food and household items to those often experiencing financial insecurity, social isolation or ill health. We work closely with the community and service providers to meet the immediate needs of vulnerable groups within our community and pride ourselves on the results of our adaptable and people focused organisation.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and ideally experienced Volunteer Manager to support us in building capacity within our community. The role holder will be responsible for
- the recruitment and retention of Volunteers from the local community through social media, outreach and Hub engagement.
- the development of a Volunteer Training Plan to potentially include courses such as DBS Checking, Mental Health First Aider Training, CPR and First Aid, Information and Guidance Training, Suicide Prevention and Awareness, Health and Hygiene Certification etc.
- the promotion, facilitation and delivery of a programme of Community Upskilling initiatives including face-to-face sessions and promoting online training.
- Data collection and administration including the maintenance of volunteers training records in line with defined project outputs and our organisation’s policies and procedures.
We’ll need you to have:
- good communication skills with people at all levels
- an organised and systematic approach
- a person-centred focus
- the ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
- an understanding of issues faced by those experiencing food and financial insecurity, physical and mental health issues and social isolation.
Please note: these roles are offered ‘subject to funding’ and for the duration of the project.
