What does ‘Our Home’ mean to you this Refugee Week?

This Refugee Week, we chatted to Olena Ivanyk from Education Development Trust, about what it’s like being a Ukrainian refugee living in Cornwall and how she wants to use her experiences to support others in her situation through the Cornwall Refugee Assist programme.

The theme for Refugee Week 2024 is “Our Home”. From the places we gather to share meals to our collective home, planet earth: everyone is invited to celebrate what our Our Home means to them.

We are inviting colleagues to send us a photograph or drawing of what ‘Our Home’ means to you to raise awareness for Refugee Week.

There are no prizes or winners, just an opportunity to think about the idea of home in as many different ways as you can.  The more creative the better!  We have already had some varied submissions including a hen house, a landscape and an animal shelter, so there are no limitations.

We will publish some of the best photos on our website and social media during Refugee Week.
