We are happy to work with design agencies and individual designers, including recent graduates.

The designer will be required to work with a pre-existing corporate identity, but be creative in producing work that is appealing to both members of the public and people who work in the voluntary and community sector. In most cases, this will involve laying out text-heavy documents so they are attractive and easy to read.

In advance of its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 9 November, the South West Forum (SWF) is seeking nominations from its Membership for the Forum’s Board of Trustees/ Directors.

SWF believes it is essential it reflects the wide diversity of the community and voluntary sector across the region. It wants to ensure its Board of Trustees/ Directors has a gender balance and involves people who can bring the perspectives of black and minority ethnic groups, disability groups and other equalities interests, and so particularly welcome nominations of people from these commonly excluded groups.

Potential trustees need to be nominated by a SWF member. Nominees can be trustees, paid staff or volunteers from a SWF member organisation or part of an organisation affiliated to a SWF member. Anyone is eligible provided they are nominated by and connected to a SWF member – so there is a large pool of potential trustee talent out there.

For the nomination form, election timetable and contact details see the South West Forum website.

Volunteer Cornwall has just opened the first Cornish Time Bank in St Austell. The Time Bank provides a way for people in St Austell to exchange time with each other on household skills and hobbies. The Time Banking movement started in America and since 1998 over 100 Time Banks are now running across the UK. Giving time by helping someone for an hour is traded for receiving an hour of help from someone else. For example, you could receive an hour of language tuition and in return you could give someone an hour of your time to help them wash their car. Tasks such as gardening, simple DIY, cooking, languages, computer skills, crafts and music can all be swapped through the Time Bank. Being part of a Time Bank is a great way to meet people and give to your community whilst getting something back in return.

So if you are aged 18 or over and live in St Austell and would like to know more then get in touch by ringing Emily on 01726 76633 or emailing emilyh@volunteercornwall.org.uk or popping in at the Volunteer Centre St Austell at 17 Duke Street, St Austell, PL25 5PQ.

SITA (Cornwall) Trust is an Environmental Body, operating under the Landfill Communities Fund. It was set up in 1996 and has made grants of more than £6 million across Cornwall (releasing further funding into the Cornish economy of more than £24 million) since then, to a very wide range of projects.

The Board sets the strategic direction and objectives of the Trust, within the framework of the Landfill Communities Fund. It also determines grant applications on the advice of the Trust Manager.

The Board is looking to recruit two new members over the next few months. We are looking in particular for experience in the areas of the law/accountancy/middle management level involvement in community groups, and in all cases a good working knowledge of Cornwall.
