The CVSF aims to directly benefit its 185 members and indirectly impact beneficially on the 3000 VCS organisations in Cornwall who provide more than 400,000 assists a year to the people of the County. We aim to keep the sector informed and feedback its views at county, regional and national level.

The CVSF was formed in 1994 when a small group of people came together to discuss issues for the sector in Cornwall. Since then our membership has steadily grown and we now have members from the VCS across Cornwall, who between them provide a vast range of services, including commissioned public services, for the communities of Cornwall.

Cornwall VSF’s aims are to provide the following services for the Voluntary Sector:

Advocacy : provide strategic leadership as the voice of the sector and liaise with, and bring influence to bear on, local, regional and national government.

Brokerage : be the catalyst for, and facilitate, partnerships and joint working.

Communication : provide internal links within the sector, and be the gateway to other sectors, statutory bodies and government, and help to co-ordinate sector marketing and public relations.

Development : initiate or commission research into issues affecting the sector and identify gaps in provision.
