Monday 6th July 1.00pm – 4.00pm
Shire House Suite, Shire House, Bodmin
A free half day event. Booking form attached.
Cornwall has been chosen to be one of only two South West Take Part local pathfinders. This is a two year programme working to help people access support to get involved and to influence decisions made in their communities.
- To build the skills and confidence to engage
- To provide information about how to make a difference to communities
- To help organisations understand what puts people off taking part
Take Part will offer information about what opportunities exist in Cornwall through Volunteer Bureaus, One Stop Shops, Libraries and a range of voluntary and public sector organisations.
It will also provide information and support for people who want training and skills to take up these opportunities.
Community Learning can build the confidence and skills needed by Active Citizens.
It can help people take that first step by volunteering, joining a forum or resident’s association, or just writing to their MP about issues in their community.
It can help encourage people to take up formal roles like school governor, councillor or magistrate.
Come and meet service providers, community learners and active citizens and contribute to the developing Take Part strategy on widening participation across Cornwall.
Please fill in and return the attached form as soon as possible to secure your place.
