Community Led Planning

ACRE has set up an online resource for Community Led Planning, developed by drawing on decades of experience from those who have supported or implemented it within local communities. Community Led Planning is a structured process that engages local people in debate about their local area. It encourages them to identify their local needs, to develop local solutions and have real influence with decision-makers about local needs, priorities and the future. The website includes information on how the CLP approach allows local people to decide their own future, how local government can build on the energies of local residents to engage with communities and the many benefits such an approach has for all those concerned with making community empowerment a reality. The quotes and facts which are distributed throughout the website text are drawn from individual case studies and research documents related to the practical implementation of CLP.
